A couple weekends ago, I went to the Basilica Block Party. Had myself a great time! Mat Kearney is my new all time favorite right now. I cant seem to take his CD out of my car.

Girls Week-Beginning in Kansas City

Heather, Tammy and I packed up the silver bullet last Sunday morning and headed south towards Kansas City. There we meet up with Kara Lynn for a couple days of 'girls' time. It was great. Heather came up with the idea to keep a journal of what we did, what we said and how things went...so these are Heather insights of our week-beginning!! Along with some fun pictures. Sunday 6/28/09 @ 9:30 a.m. - Missed rest stop exit. Tammy has to pee bad. Next stop is 30 miles...whoops!
@ 11:00 a.m. - called Laura Larrew (she lives in Col..about 5 hrs away) and invited her to come...she said No.

@ 1:49 - Arrive at our hotel (Best Western). Hotel is under construction; great!

@ 3:30ish - (setting at pool) Man at pool comments that we are 'raw' (points to Tammy), medium (points to Kara), medium well (points to Heather) and well done (points to JoAnn)- weird dude! @ 6:24 - Bart calls to tell Tammy that he has to clean up Sh*t (literally). Tammy is laughing and crying at the same time

Monday 6/29/09 @ 9:00 Drive around forever to find a park. There is a park called Big 11 Lake. REALLY...it's a swamp with overgrown grass and tons of blue garbage's. Pass...., head on to downtown to walk by the river instead. Have an arm contest to see who can hold arms above head the longest. (JoAnn and Heather tie...sort of) @ 10:24 - return to hotel...what are we going to do next? POOL! eat chips and salsa, swim, tan and relax. It was really hot. head back to the room by 1:20
@ 7:00- Melting Pot for ladies night. Jo's cousin Clint comes along. Jo orders a dirty Martini and it turns out she really doesn't know what this is, and hates it. Drinks it anyhow...and hates it! Waiter is dumb. We have cheese and chocolate fondue. Jo leaves with Clint. Tuesday 6/30/09 sometime after 8:00 a.m. - Go to the Plaza (shopping area) and get pedicures. Tammy cannot get red; Jo says she gets pink. This is Kara's first pedicure. She doesn't like her toes. JoAnn wants to get red and blue alternating because we are going to the twins game. Her guy says "No it will not look good". She ends up winning the fight and gets her way. Tammy cant understand her girl but does get asked if she wants her eyebrows waxed. @6:00 Get to Kaufman Stadium. Realize we should have tailgated. Kara's car gets dinged by guy nest to us. Go in! Jo talks to old guy named Bob checking her bag. Ends up getting us lower deck tickets instead of our upper deck ones. NICE! Walk around, run into Jo's friend Aaron. Talk for awhile, walk around more. Game is kind of boring. 2-1 Twin win. Stadium is cool. Drunk guys sit behind us, very annoying. Heather goes to get Jo a pretzel with cheese. Decides cheese is too expensive ($1.50) and just brings back pretzel. Tells Jo she is trying to be frugal with her $ even though she owes Jo $20. Kara, Tammy and Heather have Helmet Sundaes, need 6 more helmets so all children can have one. Stay after game looking for helmets. People left. We end up with 17 helmets. Drive home to hotel, watched That 70's show and fall asleep. Wednesday 7/1/09 @ 8:00. Had to pool for our last couple of hours of fun in the sun. 10:15 - Kara leaves...11:15, we leave. 6:00ish- arrive at Heather house. Week-beginning is over!
