NWC Ball.

Ok, so 2 weekends ago was our last regular season travel weekend. we hit up Mankato and New Ulm. the team had a great time and these were some pics of my players that i just couldn't pass up posting. we won both games that weekend, which was really good- and fun!Friday we had a tough lose against Northland, but had a good win on Saturday against St. Scholastic. Saturday was a really fun and special day for our team. We had what we called our 'Pink Zone' Day, which is just a day that we as a team wanted to bring awareness to breast cancer, honor some survivors and those still battling cancer, and than try to raise some money. We all wore pink t-shirts...even the coaching staff,
had some fun give aways. We had four ladies that we honored. one of our players grandma who has been cancer free for years now, another lady who has a very unique and special relationship with 2 of our players who is currently fighting it, and than 2 good friends of Linda. It was fun to honor them, to show them support and to stand firm in praying for them. I think having awareness days like this are so important...and it's super fun to see our players help bring awareness. It was a good day.
And it made Valentines day go faster for me. I am sure valentines day for most people is a fun day to celebrate love and to be all mushy with your special someone, but for me it's a horrible day. i hate it. honestly, i do! I've never had a boyfriend to celebrate v-day with and or do i care to (that is care to celebrate the day...I'd really care to have a boyfriend) i am sure that if i did my opinion would change, but right now it's just a day that seems to be a money maker more than anything. i hope that if i ever do get a boyfriend that we spend every day finding ways to celebrate what ever it is we have, instead of just doing it on Feb 14th. It is hard to just stand bye and watch all my friends make plans and get all excited about that day, and i sit at home alone....bored, with a bad attitude. yeah- that's how i felt last night. but- it was really really good that i had 'Pink Zone' to make the day go faster and to remember that there are bigger and more important things to be aware of and celebrate, besides v-day. so i actually only had a bad attitude from about 8:30p.m til when i feel asleep (11:00). so- whatever. although i did get flowers on Friday, which was a super fun surprise and very uplifting. Megan, who is a NWC Eagle baller grad came in to do devo's on Friday before the game. She is fantastic, and did a great job bringing truth about 'waiting' on the Lord. She makes me proud...not that i impacted her spiritual walk (Jesus is doing that), but it just makes me smile to see how well our players grow up and do life outside of the bubble and confines of NWC. anyways- she left and when she came back to the game she presented me with 2 red roses and told me that she thought i was beautiful and that she wanted to honor that....seriously- super cool of her. i wonder at how much of that was Megan driven or God using Megan as a gift!...cuz i needed something a little uplifting. yeah- cheesy, but so good. T hanks Megan.

i am a NCU Tar heels fan- and am darn proud of it! yes, I'll admit...I've sort of joined the 'band-wagon' the past 4 years since Tyler Hansbrough and Ty Lawson have joined the squad...but come on, everyone should. I've always been a NCU fan...since Micheal Jordan's time- but the past 2 years I've been sort of a freak about it. i was totally lovin life last night when The Heels beat the Blue Devils. Not only did the best team win, but it was a fantastic game! (and i got a great workout in watching it via elliptical machine) i love basketball! i love good solid competitive basketball. i think there were 5 different times the game was tied, and 4 different times that the leading team changed. I really enjoy watching Tyler (funny, it sounds like we are on a first name basis....i wish) play...it's not pretty or graceful all the time; but he is one of the hardest workers (i think) in college ball today. and the man knows how to get to the free throw line, and he even makes them- every post coaches dream! Yeah- there are many other players like Paulas (Duke's guard) that work super hard and can make a lot happen for his team...but really there is none other than Hansbourgh. And Lawson...holy buckets; last night he actually might have been my favorite players. He took complete control and made things happen for his team. coaches love those sort of players! regardless....i am a Tar heels fans-and i am a Hansbourgh fan- and watching them beat Duke last night was nothing but fun, and caused me to experience a whole lot of joy! and just to clarify (for Linda mostly)...Tyler is a good looking kid- but that is NOT way i like him so much. so there! actually Ellington (his teammate) is way more attractive. :)

light

i love it when i leave for work and the sky has tiny hints of light in it. i get so tired of waking up in the pitch dark, heading to work in the picth dark and than returning home to the pitch dark. but alas...this morning (granted i left for work 10 minutes later than i usually do), there was light in the sky. yes, it wasnt much- but i could tell that it was there. that must mean THAT SPRING IS IN THE AIR- RIGHT? and...not only is there light in the sky in the morning, but i've been noticing that it has been staying lighter little by little in the evening as well. a couple nights this week i actually left basketball practice and it was still light out. crazy! again, is this another sign that spring is in the air. gosh- i hope so. i am tired of the cold, the dark, the wind, the ice, the blah-blah-blahs. i need sun. maybe i should go tanning!!!! anyways- was happy to see the light this morning! yes.
